Wonderful Elizabethan Parham House and Gardens
Parham House is one of the UK’s best Elizabethan buildings with a great hall and long gallery. You will find it in a beautiful deer park, at the foot of the South Downs, with the most attractive gardens and an excellent plant shop.

The name Parham (the “par” is pronounced like the “par” in parrot) is believed to come from the Old English “perham”, meaning “pear enclosure”
Opening Times
The house and gardens are usually open from April until the mid October. Visit on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. House | 14:00 – 17:00 Gardens | 12:00 – 17:00 Last Admission | 16:30
The Gardens
The Gardens have seven acres of ‘Pleasure Grounds’, developed in the 18th century, with a lake, spring bulbs, a brick and turf maze and many fantastic specimen trees.

The four-acre Walled Garden contains beautiful wide herbaceous borders, a rose garden, a cut flower garden, a vegetable garden, and an orchard. There’s a lovely greenhouse, which dates from the 1920s, with a lovely display of pelargoniums and other tender plants.
Food and drink are available from the Mower Shed in the grounds
The Wendy House
This interesting structure in the grounds was built for children in the 1920’s. You can go inside and explore!
