Rosebud Cottage is in an ideal location in Steyning. It is a quiet side turning, yet just a minute or two away from both the High Street and from country footpaths leading into the South Downs.

The High Street

As you head down the High Street and you’ll find many independent retailers in the main street and an interesting range of shops. You can buy food seven days a week and until late in the evening.

If you enjoy eating out you’ll find tea rooms, cafes, restaurants and pubs which are open all year. My favourite restaurant is Baloo’s Bistro: Open every evening apart from Sunday with a 10% discount for guests at Rosebud Cottage. More information at Baloo’s Bistro

I also recommend the Sussex Produce Company Cafe (in my photo below). This award winning venue prides itself on sourcing high quality food and drink and supporting local farmers and producers. Details at Sussex Produce Cafe

Nearby Footpaths

The location of the cottage is perfect if  you enjoy walking. You’ll find country footpaths within minutes of leaving Rosebud Cottage. Walk down Mouse Lane – just round the corner – or go along Mill Road. Within 20 minutes you can enjoy wonderful views both beyond Brighton and towards the coast. If you are a keen hiker you may want to walk on the long distance footpath the South Downs Way – within a mile of the cottage. There are leaflets, books and maps in the cottage with suggested routes.
